We will be heading from SLC south to Goblin Valley. Other than Hanksville what would be the nearest hotel/motel to stay in? Goblin Valley will be our first stop on our tour of the beautiful Utah canyonlands Thanks Judi

Yes Green River is the last town before Goblin Valley. I stayed at the Robbers Roost motel (twice) when passing through here, around43. Agree with Jaap, Crystal Geyser is worth a look.

Is Torrey any good to you? (just the other side of capitol reef - tho I guess this may be in the wrong direction). I noticed a new hotel had opened up just after the park - i think it was a Days Inn. We drove Moab to Escalante in a day via Goblin Valley - what a lovely park that is, and great fun running amongst the weird formations!
