One of the locals there in Goa suggested us to visit the Oldest temple in Goa which is saved from invasion because of its location in the forests.

Me and my friends visited this temple , it is around 65 kilometers from Panji.To our surprise we came to know that the temple was made in the 12th century by Hemadri the minister of the Yadava King Ramchandra.

It is a very pleasant and positive ambiance around the temple as one can realize the old architectural work.The pillars have intricate carvings within them and the walls had pictures of Brahma, Vishu and Mahesha.The entire temple is made of black basalt rock

The experience at this temple was very pleasant and want to explore more such heritage sites in Goa, can any one suggest some.

I always loved backpacking and travelling in india when i was younger, but now that i have a family (two children aged 3 and 5) i don't know whether its ok to go back there with them? I remember indian people being brilliant with kids and i feel like it would be an amazing experience for them - but is it safe? I don't want them to have hundreds of vaccinations. I long to revisit rajasthan but maybe somewhere like Goa or Kerala would be easier. Can anyone out there help?

This year me and my cousins have planned to celebrate Holi in Goa, it is the first ever time that we all cousins are able to turn up for such an outing. I am very excited for those water sports on Goa beaches and bike rides. The trip is planned till April 7 and hope to have great fun. But apart from the beaches, does Goa has anything special during Holi? Have heard of the Shigmo festival but not sure of how it is celebrated. Has anyone been for the Shigmo festival or celebrated holi in Goa?

What is the best beach to stay a few days in Goa

Hey there! I am from Mumbai and currently working in Goa. I live in Mapusa in North Goa. I dont have many friends here and would surely not like to be with office colleagues after office hours very often (Already see them for 48 hours a week). I look forward to meeting up new people, make friends over a drink... basically spend my evenings and Sundays well (They would surely be better than how I spend them alone) Now this may seem crazy, but its not more the merrier for me. I'm planning to be in Goa within next 2-3 weeks. Actually, I just got an email from my foreigner friend today, who offered me to join him for Goa trip. He has found an accommodation in a cheaper hostel in Arambol, so we may not need an accomodation, but it will be great to get to know what all can be seen and done in the area. Although, I went to Goa last year in December too, but didn't go to Arambol. Also, it will be great, if any of you would be in Goa then, maybe we can meetup and/or explore and enjoy together.

I`m going to Goa in january, and can`t seem to find wich beach to stay in. I really wanna be close to a place where I could learn yoga and meditation, but I also wanna be a place where it is easy to socialize in the evenings. Any suggestions? I`ve been to Morjim before, but that was too quiet in the eveningtime :)

hi anyone know of a good guesthouse in baga. ill be there for a week starting from about 4 th december. there is two of us but we would want separate rooms. im not sure whether to book because i wont know the exact dates until a day or two before. want to stay somewhere inexpensive as we will be out and about most of the time. cheers

Hi VT wanting to hear from you who have traveled in India what vaccinations you recommend are a must have before going to India. My husband and are are thinking about traveling to Goa and Kerala area of India this February 2013. We have done quite a bit of traveling but have never bothered with vaccinations. That said we also have never been to India. Have been to Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Bali and never thought twice about vaccinations for those countries and gratefully we have never been sick while visiting any of those countries. Please advice. Thanks in advance.

hi guys when im travelling in november-january i will have a vacation within a vacation in goa. i will stay there for about 10 days. im thinking of heading to baga for 5 days and then somewhere else. shall i stay for the duration in baga and use it as a base or go somewhere else for 5 days. when im finished there i will be heading for mumbai cheers
