This year me and my cousins have planned to celebrate Holi in Goa, it is the first ever time that we all cousins are able to turn up for such an outing. I am very excited for those water sports on Goa beaches and bike rides. The trip is planned till April 7 and hope to have great fun. But apart from the beaches, does Goa has anything special during Holi? Have heard of the Shigmo festival but not sure of how it is celebrated. Has anyone been for the Shigmo festival or celebrated holi in Goa?

It in mid march held in various cities in Goa such as Ponda on March 28, 2013. Vasco on March 29, Panajim on March 30, Mapusa March 31, Pernem on April 1, Bicholim on April 2, Sanquelim on April 3, Valpoi on April 4, Curchorem on April 5, Sanguem on April 6, Margao on April 7, Quepem on April 8, Cuncolim on April 9 and Canacona on April 10, 2013.

Hey you should experience the Shigmo festival, I had enjoyed it last year.Moreover the Shigmo parade is a classic display of hindu Goan ethinicity as the hindu goan men and women display their traditional folk dances.

Hey if you are visiting Goa during the same time... i would suggest you should also enroll for the Kayaking training program to be held in Vasco from 1st-4th of April and 5-8th of April in Panjim. I think this should make your trip full of fun and adventure.
