Hi everyone. I intend to do a trip from Christchurch to Queenstown for bout 8 days in the first week of June. I've never travelled on my own (solo-virgin!) and I'm hoping to meet up with people who have done so or intend to travel during the same time as me for a drink or even a day trip. At this stage I have no idea if I'm planning to rent a campervan and drive down (winter roads??) or grab a bus tix and book into a backpackers where ever I end up for the day. Would love to hear some ideas/suggestions.. cheers!
Can anyone help with a really nice and scenic walk/tramp near the Dart River into the Dart Valley - in the Paradise vicinity of Glenorchy? There's a lovely river entry called The Chasm upriver from the Arcadia Homestead, which I'd love to see! Is there an inexpensive way of visiting this location, either on foot or kayak? How far could you go in a non-4WD vehicle towards Paradise? Could you go past Diamond Lake as far as Arcadia Homestead or even further? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
