We drove from Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier to North Bend, WA in one day. The roads were fine. We could have made it to Seattle in one day without any trouble but didn't have reservations until the next day.

We went through Kalispell, MT, south towards Polson to Elmo. Turned off at Elmo to Hot Springs to St. Regis and off to Spokane and beyond.

We went that way based on the opinion of a trucker. The roads were fine and it was worth going that way.
