Girona-affordable accomodation

by Peter123 Online Now May 12, 2003 at 11:50 PM

I am looking for a resonable priced hotel in Girona, where our family (including a 11 y.o. kid) can stay. Alternatively I am also considering staying in and visiting Figueres. We will be renting a car, so short distance driving wouldn't be a problem. Can anybody share his/her local experience? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated Peter

I think a hostel, or so called youth-hostel, would do fine. try www.hostelbooking.com. If, anyway, you still want to stay in a hotel, I just can tell you to hurry up, because the high season is getting closer, and hotells fill up quickly. I can also tell you there are lots of hotels (so don't panic) and other charming places, staying in country villas and so. well, good luck on your search.

Hi I am staying in Barcelona for a week, we have rented a really modern beautiful apartment, it costs €150 per night, between 4 of us ,it works out cheap as beans, & there are loads to choose from that dont cost that much , expect €100- €140 for a 2 bed 3 bed that sleeps 5 , this may work out cheaper than a hotel + will be much nicer. Just run a search on yahoo or google for " Girona apartments & see what comes up. The site I used was www.lovingbarcelona.com It works out @€37.50 per night pps + we would pay that for a hostal !! the apt is to 5* standard !

One possibility is to get a room in a field-house. Well i am not sure this word is correct. This is a hose in the field, vey good for children. You have an exemple in http://www.cansola.com The site is in catalan, but you can see the photos, sure you'll understand something, and if you want more information, the people of this house speak good english.

If u r staying in Girona, its a must going to Figueres!! You can do a 1-day trip just to see Dalí Museum n so on. Anyways, Girona is a lovely city itself, and full of possibilities to choose from to make day trips around: beach, countryside, etc. I really dont know about accommodation, but maybe a youth hostel could a good choice, self-cooking is allowed in a lot of them, so it will be cheaper. =)
