Can one depart from Amsterdam, see Geithoorn and return to Amsterdam in one day? Is it worth the trip?
Hi, You can plan your trip with public transport here: http://9292.nl/en By public transport this will take you 2.5-3 hours By car it will be about 1.5 hours. So by public transport it is possible but you'll probably be traveling longer than you'll be staying in Giethoorn if you want to do this in one day... I would rent a car if I were you... It's doable, but be aware that travel time with public transportation is about 2.5 hours (Trains to Amersfoort and thereafter to Steenwijk; bus to Giethoorn). ... and you have to pick the right departure time, because the bus is a hourly service. PJ

And yes, it is worth the trip, but make sure the weather is OK since it's outside...
