Is the Euro widely accepted in the shops and restaurants? Would we lose a great deal in the exchange other than the obvious bank rate difference, in other words, do the shops etc. charge an addition fee to the exchange rate.
If I move to the Linea and commute to Gib by foot/bike will it take me long to get through customs?
Hi, are shops retailing handicrafts and curios (carvings) in Gibralter?

can I expect shops to be open? will I be able to buy cheap spirits?
My father was born in Gibraltar in 1919 and resided there until the family relocated to the UK
in 1933. Technically I qualify to be a Gibraltarian by virtue of my father's place of birth, and
I am inquiring whether or not I require 3yrs residency in Gib to buy certain properties should I
relocate there in the future
there is a shirt shop in main street that sells collared type shirts (there was also one in caditz so Im assuming its a chain of shop?)
Does anyone know the name of it?
Can anyone let me know if there is a problem walking out of the airport and across the border on foot and then getting a taxi to Marbella on the Spanish side?
Thanks in advance
is there a pc city in gibralter
With the present problems with the border crossing is there a delay in walking across to the Spanish car hire companies
What is it like, in today's climate, for driving across the border, finding somewhere to park, and visiting for the day. Would you recommend getting accommodation in Gilbraltar, or going back into Spain for accommo, with regards to availability and price. We are 2 Canadians. We will be in that area, with a rental car, around mid Sept. Thank you.
Just wondering if there is any trouble walking over the border at the moment? I know there has been huge border queues lasting up to 6/7 hours in recent days. However, does anyone know what is the deal with crossing the border on foot? I have a flight booked for mid-August and am slightly anxious!
I am on holiday in Gibraltar soon I know the restrictions on bringing cigarettes back home to the UK but does anyone know if you can go into Spain and bring your EC allowance back into Gibraltar then back home to the UK, as my thoughts are that the duty etc has been paid in Spain and as products are cheaper in Gibraltar then it can't be classed as smuggling for profit.
Can I visit Gibralter if I have EU RESIDENCE CARD and MULTIPLE ENTRY SHCENGEN VISA?
Are there any direct buses to Gibraltar from Seville or from Marbella? We want to visit both of these Spanish cities as well as Gibraltar in May.
who is the Roman man and where is the statue ?
I think it was close to statue of Admiral Rooke.
can you cross the border in and out of gibraltar numerous times the same day with your duty free allowance each time?
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THERE IS A LIMIT ON THE AMOUNT OF TABACCO PRODUCTS YOU CAN BRING OUT OF GIBRALTAR, AND IS THERE AN AGE RESTRICTION?
Just moved to Gibraltar, so don't know my way around yet.
Does anyone know where I can take passport photos, either here in or in La Linea?
And if anyone has any additional useful information or tips for newcomers, that is welcomed as well!
We´ll be in the vicinity of Gibraltar and would lilke to make a day trip, but I understand it takes a long time to cross the border by car for whatever reason. Could anyone help with an advice how to reach Gibraltar and visit for a few hours without excessive queing at the border. Is it possible to park the car in La Linea de la Concepcion and then walk over, or take a boat/public bus etc? Thanks!
looking at moving from uk to Gibraltar what items can i take ie furniture are there any restrictions?
many thanks in advance
My fiance and I will be getting married in Gibraltar on March 5th 2013, we are looking for 2 people at that time present in Gibraltar to be witnesses to the ceremony.
im visiting Gibraltar soon, and I wanted to bring back some hand rolling tobacco (legal limit) for my family, can anybody give me a rough idea how much it costs out there?
Can you buy UK electrical goods such as TV's and Washing Machines In Gibralter.
If so is it easy to export to Spain or do you just put in the back of a car.
I am loooking for a return taxi from Malaga airport to Gibraltar for approx 3 persons. When searching online taxi companies give quotes for £120 one way, this is outside our budget. Does anyone know of anyone that provides this service to/from Gibraltar or a taxi share scheme/forum? There must be something.
What type of ID do you need to cross over the border from Spain to Gibraltar? For a day stay is it cheaper and safe to stay in La Linea as opposed to Gibraltar itself? Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the replies to my previous question.
With regard to the border, do they just sort of wave you through or is it a take-your-shoes-off/tip-you-bag-out/strip-search type interogation checkpoint (like going through the airport has unfortunately become)? If I stay outside the border I don't fancy that every time I want to a walk into Gibraltar?
Also I forgot to say before, myself and my cousin who I will be travelling with are both female (both 30). Is going through the border area 'safe' for women travellers? Bearing in mind it may be sort of 10/11ish at night?
Also, does the border close at night. I'd hate to be stranded!
does anyone have any info on how reliable it is to post documents from the UK to Gibraltar using Royal Mail, or should I use a courier ?
Thanks for any info
We're planning on visiting Gibraltar for 3 days (2 nights) in April, however, I've not been impressed with the reviews of the (four!) hotels in Gibraltar. Three of the reviews are pretty poor and the other hotel is out of our price range. I'm therefore considering getting a hotel just over the border as they seemto be much cheaper and of a higher quality and wondered if anyone had done this or could say whether it's a good idea?
I'm assuming you have to show your passport to cross the border. Would this be time consuming? (we would be on foot not in a car).
Is it possible to walk into Gibraltar from across the border (sorry, I've no idea of the scale of the town) or would we need to use public transport.
unofortunately the (limited number of) guidebooks don't cover anything on this so wondered if anyone had perhaps done this and could say whether it would be a good idea?
