Hi everybody!! I would like to ask if it is worth to spend 4 or 5 hours in Dresde in my way from Berlin to Prague by train. If the answerd is yes, could you tell me which is the best itinerary to see the main atractions in Dresde? Many thanks for your help!!!
YES ! a lot of sights are within walking-distance from the main train-station Dresden Hauptbahnhof ! You can see the Palace, Hofkirche, Zwinger, Dresdner Oper, the river Elbe and the famous terrace.

Dresden was known as "Florence of the North" and has a magnificent cultural heritage. The Gruenes Gewoelbe (Green Vaults) are one place (in addition to those already mentioned) that are well worth considering; they contain the Royal Saxon Treasury contents and are simply stunning. Wandering along the the Bruhlishe Terrasse right along the Elbe River is a nice thing to do in good weather. The historical part of Dresden is quite compact, so wandering around is an wonderful and easy thing to do.

Nother 'yes' vote. Best to get off the train at Dresden Neustadt and walk all the way to Dresden Hauptbahnhof (~ 4 km) or take the tram from Pirnaischer Platz to Hauptbahnhof. Cross river Elbe at Augustusbrücke, ideally when the sun sets. Hopefully the weather will be fine.
