GPS map of Georgia for Garmin

by matcrazy1 Online Now Sep 11, 2012 at 4:39 PM

Where in Georgia (preferrably in Batumi) can I buy GPS map of Georgia? How much GEL is it?

As I know (from websites) the map is available but exclusively in Georgia (no possibility to download the map).

Well, I've already found webpage:
http://www.geoland.ge

But it’s mostly in Georgian language which unfortunately I don’t know. Could you help me, please?
My question is where in Batumi (or Tbilisi) can I buy the GPS map for Garmin (in which market/shop – address and at which day/hours it’s open) and how much (GEL) it is?
What’s the name (in English and Georgian) of the map I need?

    Matt,
you probably already know the adress of Geoland in Tbilisi; just in case it is here:
    3 Telegraph Dead End, Tbilisi
North the old city, Kura river right bank

    Tel: +995 322 92 25 53
    Bus 23
    open 10am-7pm

They have an english version of their website:

    http://www.geoland.ge/en/home

unfortunately, if you click around you may not find a lot, but may be you will find what you are looking for.
I guess, best is to write them:
    email: info@geoland.ge

I am almost sure they can load your receiver with an english version of a Georgia map if you visit them when you go to Tbilisi.
    Good luck.
    H.

    Batumi is great.

    Thank you very much kokoryko.
Well, I have already e-mailed to Geoland but no reply as for now.
If I find the map in Batumi (most people from Europe drive to Georgia through Turkey, very rarely through Russia, so most need the map just in Batumi). I will share my knowledge on it in VT.
    Matt.

If you are driving to Batumi and Tbilisi from Istanbul it is easy. Go from Istanbul to Sinop. Then take the coat route to Georgia border. Also very easy and good road and much of it Freeway like. I just drove this 2 weeks ago.

I've just received reply from Geoland Georgia,

    "Hello
Sorry but we have no representative in Batumi, so you can find maps of Georgia +Armenia for Garmin only at our office in Tbilisi.
    Kind Regards
    Maia"

    Fax: +995 32/2922553
    E-mail: info@geoland.ge
    Website: www.geoland.ge

So, I will drive to Tbilisi first to buy it.

Hello The drive to Tbilisi is also very easy. The Batumi-Tbilisi-Yerevan is no big deal. You can easealy do without GPS. Suggest you get a Michelin road map for the Caucasian area. as a back up. GPS technology is a tool just like the map. Best to have both. If you have "smart phone" with gps tracking and map app. , this will also do great as course indicator and safety device.
