Does anyone know how long and how one travels to Port Kaituma? Are there reputable tour agencies that will take you to the former Jonestown location?? And if so what is the usual going rate? I am looking into traveling to Guyana and can not leave there w/out seeing that area. Advanced thanks!
about 1 hour by air from Oegle airport, Georgetown to Port Kaituma. It costs G$ 33,000.- (=US$ 165.-)return ticket. I have been in Jonestown, but telling the truth, nothing was there, just bushes. From PK to Jonestown takes around 1 to 1.5 hour drive, we hire a car, cost about US$ 60.-, the hotel cost only US$ 15/day, not bad. Hope it will help.
