Cable car to Genting and Luggage

by aliammar Online Now Mar 27, 2011 at 4:11 AM

Dear all, Please answer a smple question. If i take express bus for Genting from KL Sentral, there is a option that half travel in bus and half in cable car upto the Genting. i am abit confused, as i will be arriving at KLIA, traveling to KL sentral first and then to genting, which means no stay in between and i would have my luggage ( for 2 persons since i am arriving from Pakistan), so what would happen to my luggage which certainly not restricted to one small bag. Do they have provision for the luggage ? Thanks

my suggestion is, take what you need for genting in smaller bag, and leave the rest in your other bags. Leave your other bags, and everything that you dont need for Genting trip at left-luggage services available in KL Sentral.

AoA Ammar. Just noticed that you are from Karachi! Welcome to VT :) We are just back from our South East Asian trip including Malaysia! And would love to share our experiences :) Btw, as far as above suggestion is concerned. I found din2x very helpful and accurate for our trip too...

Walikum as salam dear, Yeah i am from Khi? have you been to Khi? Thanks alot for welcoming me in this wonderful virtual tourist place, this is really wonderful, and very v helpful. Very helpful and considerate people here and just because of the confidence i gained here, i am now designing my tour myself rather than relying on tour agents to do it for me.

Have you checked that there are no buses from KLIA to Genting direct. KLIA is 70 km far from KL Sentral so that will be long and tiring..

you are absolutely right. Just this morning i was discussing the tour with my chief, and he said, its better dont go direct from KLIA to Genting. Better stay a day at KL, and then go to Genting in early morning since not much to do except the theme park, so even he advised me not to stay at Genting, just go in the morning, and return in the late evening to KL . i dunno how feasible is it? what do you say? How long does it take from KL Sentral to go to Genting? if go by Coach service?

Yes, doing Genting the day you arrive in KL will be quite challenging. And yes, there is nothing much to see excpet for the theme park, casino, and the cable car ride. Frankly, we skipped Genting and instead visited Cameron Highlands (for 3 days) which is far more scenic and famous for flowers, strawberry and tea plantations. However, Genting is very famous among tourists, especially from Pakistan and India. See the following link for fares and timetable: journeymalaysia.com/ptagenti... Btw, what is the itinerary? Are you going to Malaysia only??? and let me reassure that you are in the right place where you can plan the trip yourself which will be more fun and economical too :) Have a great trip :D
