Christmas in Gent

We were thinking of holidaying in Gent over Christmas but were wondering if there would be any restaurants open on Christmas Eve,Day and Boxing Day?

    Yes (Boxing Day or St. Stephen's Day isn't even a public holiday here) but on Christmas Eve you will need to book well in advance as most restaurants only serve an expensive multi-course meal that evening, which is when Belgians eat their main Christmas meal, and many of them go out to restaurants. In any case, your hotel should cater for its guests, and Christmas markets will also be open, with food stalls.
