hello everyone, im planning a one day tour of gent on my own on friday 30 january, does anyone have some suggestion for things to see (i was thinking already about the SMAK and the 10 000 step tourist walk) or would anyone be interested in meeting for even just a couple of hour to show me around a bit (i could return the favour in BXL) im an architecture student-to-be but im interested in loads of things? thanks in advance
Hi, I had only a 4 hour stopover in Ghent. I found that in my limited time the best thing I could do would be to climb the Belfort tower and see *over* Gent. The city tourist office is in the same building. They have lots of good recommendations. It is easy to reach: Take tram no. 1 from the Gint St. Peters train station and get off near the Korenmarkt. Full details on my Gent page. Have fun.
