Xmas 2008

Hi everybody - can anybody tell me if there is likely to be anwhere open in Gent on Xmas day - especially anywhere to eat ?

    I can't really speak for Ghent but in Brussels, there is always the odd café (and Macdonalds!) that is open on public holidays, and hotels are always open. Also the Christmas market (in both Ghent and Brussels) is on till the end of December and many of the stalls sell food and drink. Shops, however, are closed on Christmas Day.
