You'll need Swiss Francs in Switzerland, unless things have changed a lot in the last couple of years. Sadly that means you'll need an expensive currency for Brits (Euros) as well as one that currently close it it's all time high (Swiss Francs).

Euros in France, Swiss Francs in Switzerland.

With very few exceptions, the local currency gives you the best value. If people offer to take currency other than the local one, chances are that you are getting a poor exchange rate. Swiss Francs for Switzerland; period...

Pay with Euros in France and Swiuss Francs in Switzerland, or else shops will charge unfavourable exchange rates. You will get a better exchange rate (pounds or euros against Swiss Francs) in Switzerland than in the UK. Best you change at a private CHANGE office in central Geneva (in rue de Mont-Blanc opposite the main rail station, for example). At this moment, you will get a modest CHF (Swiss Frans)1.43 for a British Pound or 1.27 against one Euro (as against 1.50 a little over a year ago). A big problem for Swiss tourism and export industry.
