I'll be in Geiranger for only 1 day on a cruise on May 24. Please tell me what I should not miss. What tours should I take or should I just go on my own?
there is not much that you can do "on your own" except that you take a taxi (IF you can catch one) uphill for the famous view from about halfway to Dalsnibba. You will hardly find any public transport there that fits for tourists-needs and the village of Geiranger is just some hotels, some shops and a sound&light-show AND the village is famous for the last bit of Geiranger-Fjord with the 7-sisters waterfall - you will pass by there on your ship ! About 30 years ago there was also a waterairplane for flights over the glaciers, dont know if that is still there !
