We are two senior citizens arriving by tour group in Geiranger and Alesund in July. We'd like to leave the group and make a quick, special trip to Rindal, origin of one branch of family. What is the best way to do that? Bus,car rental? Any suggestions for either way?
Rindal is a considerable distance away from Geiranger/Ålesund; it's not something you do for a cup of coffee. If you have a cruise ship or bus tour waiting for you, forget it. It takes 5 hrs 40 minutes. However, if you're flexible it's easily done from Ålesund: There is a bus (route 630) that plies Ålesund-Trondheim a few times a day and it passes through Rindal.
