Hy where is a good place to celebrate New Years Eve in Gdansk? We heard about great clubs in Sopot. We are a mid-30 year old couple, so we like party dance music in a casual way, but not in a place where only 18-20 year old people hanging around ;-) Thanks for answer!

      Gdansk Airport security

by Lisayoung Online Now Jan 31, 2012 at 8:02 PM

Hello, We are traveling to Gdansk in June, 2012 for the European Cup. We are lying out on a very early flight (6:00) and we are wondering how early we should arrive at the airport. Wizz Air requires you to check in no later than 40 minutes before the flight, but I am not sure how long security will take. We will be in Gdansk for 3 days so any suggestions of restaurants, sights, are really appreciated. Thanks.

    • Gdansk - Bialystok Ferry

by Adam616 Online Now Jan 16, 2012 at 8:48 AM

Hello everyone, I will be traveling to Gdansk in May 2012. I do however have a question regarding the Gdansk - Bialystok ferry. From what I gather, it appears it only runs on Saturday's, and with my schedule it will be difficult to get to... However, they do mention the possibility of having a ferry during the week. Does anyone have any information regarding the mid-week cruise? I have attempted to contact them, but they appear closed for the winter. Thanks for your help!

      Buying tickets to Gdansk

Hello, I am going to travel from Warsaw to Gdansk in November. I wanted to buy online tickets in advance here pksbilety.pl/search/routeinf... But when getting to the payment step I was asked to enter a Pesel number which obviously I don't have. So in this case the question is - will I be able to buy these tickets one day before the trip in a ticket office (when I am already in Poland)?

      Gdansk or Wroclaw

by schmechi Online Now Feb 5, 2011 at 2:35 AM

I am planning to visit Poland during the UEFA Euro 2012 and Warsaw seems to be a must-see (and also a necessity due to flight connections), but I wonder, which second host city I should visit... I did some online research and Gdansk as well as Wroclaw are offering a lot. Which of these cities you'd recommend? I've to add, that I am also intrested in "classical" sights (like buildings and monuments) and in history... Additionally party matters, but I suppose, that during the EURO there won't be huge differences between the host cities...

Hello, I am a VT member and am visiting Gdansk arriving there by plane on August 27th. Although not my first visit to Poland it is my first to the Baltic coast. I have already read Askla's guide and so will need to take the 210 bus from the airport. Is it clear where the bus stop is? I was rather lost when I arrived into Warsaw during my last trip to Krakow (Euromeet 2010). Can I buy a ticket at the airport? At the moment am trying to arrange a programme and have a good idea of what I want to see, including the main town, anything associated with the Solidarity movement and to spend some time around the beach and also hoping to meet people and to enjoy good food and drink in some bars cafes and restaurants. Do you know of any organised walking tours? Any local recommendations are gratefully appreciated. thank you (dziekuje) I then will be moving onto Poznan where I will have some time after lunch and early evening as I have a train to catch at 21.30. I will soon be booking a hostel to spend three nights and wondered if anyone has a recommendation please.

Hi! My mom is coming by bus to Gdansk Bus station (I assume, that´s the one called PKS, please,, correct me if I´m wrong) and needs to get to Ferry-terminal Polferries to get a boat to Sweden (Nynäshamn). She doesn´t speak any Polish or English, so I´m trying to find the information how she can get there in advance. It should be som easy way to get between those two points, som bus or tram perhaps. Otherwise she´ll get a taxi, but then I would also appreciate if someone can say how that ferry-terminal is called in Polish. Thanks in advance for any help! /Koshka_ru

Now, that very brother is going to Gdansk in a big posse to have a blast in the form of celebrating his cousin's stag!! So, I'll be extremely grateful for tips on really cool clubs. Places with good service, some local quirk & culture, yet eclectic music catering for an international crowd. Thanks a million. I'm counting on you folks. Darshan

      Getting from Gdansk to Kaliningrad

by coopersg Online Now Apr 22, 2010 at 8:19 AM

Does anyone have any suggestions about travelling from Gdansk to Kaliningrad? I checked the bus service, but that route doesn't operate on the day I need to travel (Wednesdays). There is a train but it gives me 6 minutes to transfer to my next train in Kaliningrad. I checked the ferry, but they no longer operate that route. I tried LOT but it's not 'cheap'. Aeroflot don't do that route. Wizz don't do that route. Is there perhaps a shared taxi or car type of operation? Perhaps there's an overnight bus service I haven't found? I'm happy to rough it. Happy days! Stewart

Hi Everyone We're thinking of spending a week or two in Gdansk at the start of June, but when we visit Eastern Europe we tend to stay in one place for a few days and then move on to a nearby city or town for a few days. We were considering Gdynia for a couple of days, and maybe Sopot, but am unsure whether these are best done as day trips, or if we are better to stop over? Also, if anyone has any recommendations for cheap hotels then please let us know. Location and cleanliness are the main things (happy to stop in hostels if you can book private double rooms with ensuite;) Thanks in advance Mark
