Arriving in Gaspe on October 6th and would like to hire a taxi to take us sightseeing. Does anyone know if this is possible? Sylvia
It is possible but most likely expensive and not very necessary. Downtown Gaspe is pretty small and easily visited on foot. Any particular sites you wished to see?

I traveled through Gaspé in July and am not sure that you would need a taxi to go sightseeing. I was able to travel most of the Riviere du Loop hitchhiking. The road between Gaspe and Percé is beautiful, winding and offers many sightseeing opportunities for the car. The information center in Percé was very helpful, providing maps of beautiful trails. Rivière des Emeraudes is a beautiful, fairly beginner hike. I made a short video of my experience: youtube.com/watch?v=Zb7oeyL2... Many of the people that picked me up hitchhiking were happy to tell me sights worth seeing, as well as were eager to pull over at photo opportunity spots. Enjoy your trip!
