Train from from Munich Airport to Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Normal fare EUR 22.90, but you can also buy Bayern-Ticket (Bavaria-Ticket) Package price 27 EUR if you buy your ticket online or at the ticket machine. 29 EUR if you purchase your ticket at the Reisezentrum. This offer is for up to 5 persons traveling together. Bayern-Ticket Single (Bavaria-Ticket Single) EUR 19 if you buy your ticket online or at the ticket machine. EUR 21 if you purchase your ticket at the Reisezentrum. This offer is only for one persons.

qaminari gave the price from Munich not Munich airport. Munich airport is some 40 km north of Munich and a single ticket to Munich would be EUR 9,20. Best deal is the already mentioned Bavaria Ticket. This ticket is valid Mo-Fr from 9am till 3am next day Sa,Su from midnight till 3am next day It covers the S-Bahn trains from the airport to Munich Hbf (main railway station) and the regional trains from there to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Also the regional buses (RVO) in Garmisch. Not sure about the city buses.

I agree with buying your ticket at the airport as it is valid on the s-bahn as stated. The local Garmisch bus website is www.rvo-bus.de, click on Fahrpln®ions,then zugriffe auf rund fahrplan region oberbayern,next click ,mehr then bitte wahlen sie drop down menu click on garmisch,then starten this should give you the routes and route numbers in the line below Garmisch enter the route number to access the timetable. We used the bus from garmisch to go to Mittenwald and oberammergau in august
