A small studio to rent for 6 weeks?

by itsasmallworld Online Now Mar 22, 2013 at 6:49 AM

I am going to Garmisch to work for 6 weeks, starting April 2, and I need to rent a small studio (not an expensive vacation house) as close to the Marshall Center as possible. I might stay there till the end of the year, but I do not know yet. I would appreciate any leads/ideas!!! Thanks!

Do a google search for Fewo Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Fewo - Ferienwohnung - is a holiday flat as opposed to a holiday house, so they are usually a bit cheaper. But Garmisch is an expensive area.
This is just one site to start looking:
    fewo-direkt.de/urlaub-ferien...
A holiday flat will be furnished, so you wouldn't need to shop for a bed etc in the short time you are there. If it turns out you'll stay longer, you can look for another flat while there.

Another possibility is "Wohnen auf Zeit" - short term lets. Again, this is expensive in Garmisch.

    Good luck.

Other options are VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) and Homeaway. They are vacation sites but cover all budget ranges. We've used both and they are reliable. Also, when you contact them, tell them it's long-term and ask for a discount. We have always gotten a discount but you won't get it unless you ask.

Good luck. You're going to a beautiful area.
