      cable ride?

by gdelzer Online Now May 3, 2013 at 3:48 PM

I remember a ride back in the 1980s that was in town and went up a tall hill--like a gondola or skyride. Am I remembering correctly? And what ever happened to it?

I am taking my husband to Galena in the end of March for his birthday. We are bringing our daughter who is 6 months old. I want to go to dinner on Saturday night and would like to try Log Cabin Restaurant. I would like to know if it is child friendly because the reviews I read say that the restaurant is small. Please help me, I really would like to take the family somewhere enjoyable. Thanks JoJo in Chicago

The cobblestone street section by Vinny's Italian restaurant is how old? Is this Washington street? Thank you for your time!

    • TIps for Galena in December

Hello Everybody ! I'm going to spend a few days in Galena next week with my husband and haven't found a lot of things to do. I was there once in March so I know the town a little bit. But besides walking through the town and having a nice lunch or dinner somewhere, it doesn't seem like there's a lot going on in winter. The winery's tours end in October, one restaurant that a friend recommended is closed next week.....At least I didn't find a lot on the web - and there's no snow in sight for a sleigh ride or snowmobiling. Does anybody have ideas/tips ? Thanks a lot & happy holidays to you ! Pettine
