I've read all about Ludwig's castles - and will go and visit. But - the street scenes in Fussen look very appealing....how is the shopping along those quaint streets? Any interesting shops not to miss or bargains to check on?
The castles are outside of town. There are plenty of little shops inside the actual town of Fussen. I'm not a shopper so can't help but it is a normal and lovely town. Have you tried typing Fussen into the VT search window above? When you get your list of posts on Fussen, go to the members' Travel Pages on Fussen and scroll down to Tips. There is a place for Shopping tips and you'll probably find enough to occupy your time. BTW, there are lots of souvenir shops up near Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. It is a little town of sorts with restaurants and shops. Depends on what you are looking for. There are a couple souvenir shops near Linderhof Castle but not nearly the number near Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. We did get a couple neat beer steins there though. (I do shop occasionally!) 8^)
