I have booked a privately owned apartment on this complex for one week. After reading about the area I am a little concerned. There are accounts of a tunnel which we would have to walk through to get into town and people report there are not many amenities around. The apartment owner calls the area "west lido"... What is this area like etc etc... many thanks Emma
I really don't know correctly,do you have the fone of the hotel? is about 5 km from centrum funchal ,a stone beach with sea promenade and some bars,if you can walk to lido from there, there are a lot of bars and restaurants,the hotel has also a free shuttle to the city,there are a lot of public trasportation who passes nearbij,you can go with the bus to funchal,

Thank you for your reply. I recalled my international money transfer as I felt the owner of the property had not been completely honest. I have now found a beautiful villa in Funchal old town.
