My girl friend and I are planning on a trip to Fujairah on our own (no travel agents) :-) I just do not know where to start. I have learned from the forum that there is a bus in Deira going to Fujairah. Where does it actually stop? Is it in Dibba? I want to visit the church in Dibba, any residents here who we can meet up with and help us in the tour? What else can we do in Fujairah? Is taxi ride there cheap? How about accommodations? Thanks.
Hello :-) I don't live in Fujeirah, I live in Dubai. Nevertheless, I hope this info helps: Check the website for the Dubai Municipality on information on buses, etc.: vgn.dm.gov.ae/DMEGOV/dm-mp-t... Copy & paste this link to see the various tips by VT-members on Fujeirah (hotels, things to do, etc.): Fujairah Travel Guide Fujeirah is quite, beautiful & cheap, with mountains and the Indian Ocean... simply stunning. All the best, Jess ('c',)

I agree, a beautiful place and there's a variety of accommodation. But remember the weather Lorelei, if you're planning to go soon it's too hot to wander around so you won't really be able to enjoy it.

A good plan is only go out early in the morning and then after sunset - as long as it's not too humid then. In between, stay in the a/c ;-)

Hi, Close Emirati friends of mine live in Masafi, near Fujairah, so I stay there every year. Yes, the height of summer heat can be oppresive as not only does the mercury climb to the mid 40's the humidy shoots up to over 80% at night so it feels even hotter than during the day. Be up and about early, stay in air conditioning between 11.00am and 5.00pm if you can (all shops and all cars and hotels have aircon). Take only light, cotton clothing. No nylon or close fitting clothes. Leave coats, pullovers at home! Book any hotel online. It costs a lot less than booking at the hotel itself. Virgin Airlines have flights from Heathrow to Dubai direct for only £235 return at the moment. Hotels in Fujairah though are mainly 4 and 5 star so expect to pay upwards of £90 a night for a room (£45 each). Food is ultra cheap as are clothes and toiletries. Buy alcohol at the airport though. I have written several comments about Fujairah on this site. Have fun there. we went in February and are going again this September before Ramadam begins on 25th September. PS Car hire is a near must to see everything. Take an international driving licence (go to www.rac.co.uk)as well as your Uk one.
