Forggensee in May?

by JohanIsWeg Online Now Mar 8, 2013 at 3:51 PM

Have heard that Forggensee does drain out at times during the year to avoid flooding... Does anyone know what it will look like in May? Will it be a brown patch or will it still be scenic? Don't want to cycle around the lake if there's not going to be any water!
Appreciate any advice.

In short I do not know, but I do know there are lots of lakes around Fussen which are great for walking, cycling. In summer - swimming. There is the Alpsee and the Schwansee near the castles. Near the Austrian border there is the Alatsee. There is an area between Fussen and the Alatsee with hiking trails and cycling trails - all very scenic.

Beginning on May 1, the water-level will start raising again.
