Weather in October and shopping

Going to FP on Oct 20th for 2 weeks. What is the evening temperature like at that time of year - do you need a light sweater? We are going to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora - which is the best island to shop in general and also the best place for pearls. Thanks.
