We have just one day in Hamburg. What would be the single best place to see?
I am trying to contact the following Avis Car Rental agency, but would like to do it via email so I can get specific questions answered regarding splitting a 39 day rental into 2 contracts so that I can use my US credit card to cover CDW. Avis International said that this was doable, but the last word is with the local rental location. I cannot wait until I arrive to get answers to my questions.
Does anyone know how I can get the email address for this location?
Possibly someone local in Hamburg call them and ask for the email address?
It would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Avis

i am planning to apply for college next semester in hamburg university and i looked up the rental student rooms inside the city and found it to be rare and expensive so i was thinking of alternatives in the rural parts around the city
considering i'll have to work and study, my question is how much will it be convenient for me?
also, if the price difference will be worth considering this alternative?
We are seniors flying to Hamburg in April. We will need a reasonably-priced hotel near the airport for one night only. Any suggestions?
Hi! I was wondering whether Hamburg was safe at night for walking around the gay clubs? Also what is the best location to stay in?

Hello VT friends, I post this forum question in order to find out a bit more about outsider artist Helmut Nimczewski. I know that he was born in 1945 or 1946 in Hamburg, and that he often takes photos of the city. I am grateful for any help. Best regards, Vladimir
I'm trying to find a destination to visit for a Christmas citybreak. I'm obviously governed by the cost of the flight and had previously considered Frankfurt, but after a recent posting, have discounted this (thanks again for all the responses). Hamburg is another consideration (as the flight's within my price range), but I don't know much about it. I want to go when the Christmas Market is there so obviously any views on this would be great. As many people pointed out to me previously, Frankfurt is not considred to be a tourist destination, but I'm not sure how Hamburg would be described? I know it's a port city but I don't know anyone who has visited it as a tourist. Are there any special must-see sights, areas to be avoided etc. ANY views would be most helpful. Thanks again Louise We're thinking of going for eiher a weekend or a couple of nights midweek.
Hello everyone, I'll have 2 full days in Hamburg, in the beginning of October...what are the highlihgts that you could recommend me!...my priority is to sense the city first, then if I would have any time I could look for a really good or "must" museums, fairs, e.tc. I love open air&sea&river and old, unique, cute streets&buildings. thank you very much. banu
We leave QM2 in Hamburg and have some hours to wait for our train to Copenhagen. We will have two suitcases and 2 backpacks. Is there a lounge or waiting room at Hamburg central station. We had a quick look around the other day but could not see anywhere except a cafe at the entrance.
Hi Im moving to Hamburg for an internship and I'm looking at places to live close to the company ill be working for that is safe for a single woman. The company is located in Ottensen on Elbchaussee. What are the best / safest places to stay in that are at a walkable distance? Is taking public transportation a better option? Ive also looked into a place in Blankenese. Is that safe? Thanks!!!
Hi all....will be in Hamburg in July to join our ship. We will need accommodation for a few days to explore the city. Where do you suggest? Three or four stars....atmosphere...not a tall uninteresting hotel...walk to coffee bars.... Thanks Marg
I'm organising a girls weekend to Hamburg in August and am looking for some fun and exciting things we can do on the Sunday and Monday. Although wandering around Hamburg, seeing the sights, shopping etc would be OK, I would also like to arrange something a bit different too. Is there anything nearby that will get our adrenalin going? Zip-lining perhaps or something similar? We're happy to travel out of Hamburg (although not so far that we waste all our time travelling)but we won't have a car. We are your average 40+ year olds so not really into clubbing anymore but like a good dance and to have a good, laughter filled night out. Here in the UK a couple of us do ceroc dancing which is a mixture of jive and salsa - is there anything similar in Hamburg? Any ideas for good but in-expensive restaurants? I'm looking for quirky ideas that will make our trip unusual and memorable.
Hi, I like to spend 3-4 days sometimes in May in Hamburg to visit places like The Ship museum, Speicherstadt, Fischmarket etc. I will be on my own (retired non-smoking male travelling by car) and ideally looking to find a nice, clean and safe place (Zimmer) maybe with breakfast or without, internet connection and parking included if possible. Perhaps close enough to the places mentioned as to not have to need my car to get around and maybe just use public transport. Not interested much in nightlife, but clean surroundings and affordable. Thank you all! Cheers, Norbert
Could someone suggest a website ot other for finding information, especially effects of the Second World war, on this village please. My friend,s ancestors came from here but she doesn,t speak German so searching for stuff on the web has been difficult for her. She has a book called Chronik der Gemeinde Schnakenbek which mainly talks about the post war years. My friend,s father plans on visiting Germany this year to obtain more information, if he already had some facts to begin with , this would be an enormous bonus. Thank you.
does anyone have any idea where we could find riding clothes and equipment in Hamburg for my daughter ?(age 8)
Hello all. Some persons of my company are going to stay for a long term in Hamburg, probably more than 8 months. We have known the news today, and we want to find one or two apartments to rent. Sometimes there will be 4 persons, but at some moments there may be even 6 or 8 persons. They will be working in Amsinckstrasse 45. Being at a walkable distance from there would be great, but if it is an expensive neigborhood I guess that my company would want a not so expensive location depending if there is good public transport connection. I would apreciate any info about websites to find such apartments, and the public transport system...thank you very much!
We will be arriving in Hamburg late in the evening by car and we will be staying at Hamburg Marriott Hotel. I would be glad if you could help me with the following: 1- Is ıt a better idea to leave the car in the parking lot of the hotel and go to city centre and other attractionds by taxi or metro considering my kids 4 and 8 yerars old? 2 - Any suggestions for my kids in Hamburg or outside Hamburg on our way back to Berlin by car? 3 - Any must-see place or city, towns between Hamburg and Berlin? 4 - What is the speed limit on the Berlin-Hamburg highway? 5 - Being a Beatles fan, is it possible to see the club they once played? 6- Any suggestions for dinner which would be fun with the kids? Thanks in advance

I have been browsing various sites - budget airlines, skyscanner etc - hoping to find a direct flight for an elderly friend who plans to visit us in the Spring. I am only finding flights via Amsterdam. My friend lives close to Norderstedt and has some mobility problems. Dates are flexible, but a direct flight would be so much more convenient. Can anyone please advise ? Your help would be much appreciated.
