Train from Frankfurt to Bamberg

Basically I am wondering does anyone know about the train journey from Frankfurt to Bamberg... When we searched it on the bahn.de site, we got a quote for almost €60 per person for the journey... Then my friend, who lived in Augsburg for a year, had the idea that maybe we could get the Länder-Tickets for the Frankfurt area and then get another one for when we cross into Bavaria... Does anyone know is this possible? Or anything cheaper than €60 basically! Thanks a million.
