My husband and I (both early 30's) Have 4 full days (Tues-Sat) in Provence and will be staying in Maubec with a car. We have never been and I am feeling overwhelmed by all of the places to see. I think we want to go to: Marseille & Cassis, Arles, Avignon, Lourmarin, St Remy, Gordes, L'isle sur la Sorgue. We would love to visit markets and find beautiful places to picnic, and maybe do some light hiking. I read Pont du Gard is a nice place to go, and maybe Gorges du Verdon but it looks like It might be too far. Which of these places can we bundle together and see in one day and do any need a full day? Any specific activities worth booking? The only thing scheduled so far is a Truffle Hunting tour for a couple hours Wednesday evening. We don't want to fill our schedule up too much, and want to make sure there is plenty of time to just enjoy the beauty around us so if we need to remove any of these places which do we cut out?
Thanks so much for your help!
Where is best to do some shopping for Lonchamp bag?
Airport or a shop? Where is it available in Paris?
I will be in Paris June 7 to June 16 and thinking about renting an apartment.
But most of the apartments don't have AC listed. Will it be warm and humid and uncomfortable without AC during this time in Paris?

hi family with teenagers - want to break the journey - not keen on stopping in Nantes city recommendations off the main route
Hallo my friends. Actually I speak no French at all and this might be a problem in my case, that's why I need your advice. We will be in Paris for some days and I was thinking of Lyon as a day trip. Lyon has been in my heart as the city of the novels I have read as a young girl and thus it is some kind of a "need" to see her. Of course, Lyon of the 19th century must be a past now, but nevertheless it is Lyon after all.
Sorry for the introduction. My main reason for asking your help is that Greek woman was born in Lyon in 1933 and her mother was burried in Lyon before she and her father returned to Greece. So, do you know if I have any chance of finding out the address of their house or the cemetary her mother was burried. Whom shall I contact in Lyon's town hall? Any advice?
Never had such a short transfer window. Anyone able to tell me the quickest way to get from 2E to 2G ?
Many thanks :)
Hi, many years ago a VTer gave a very good tip on the best spot for photo of the Eiffel Tower, but I lost that email. Can someone recommend please?
Just realised most of attractions are closed on 1st May as it is public holiday. What is open besides Notre Dame?
We are a family of 4 (2 small children) looking to get from Perpignan Airport to Argelès-sur-Mer / Argelès Plage.
Can any advise of our transport options (Bus / Train / taxi) and a rough idea of price?
I've just seen an unanswered question on another site which referred to breakdown policies that DO NOT cover animals travelling with you at home or abroad.
If your stricken vehicle has to be towed away then no doubt you will be taken care off but do you know what happens about your dog/s.
I apologise if this subject has already been debated but my insurance company like most others I suspect leave the recovery of dogs up to the good will of the recovery driver which does not exactly give you peace of mind.
Does anyone know of a breakdown insurance company that specifically covers dogs?
It was also mentioned that an unfortunate couple tried to hire a vehicle while their car was being repaired and found they couldn't because they did not have the paper counterpart together with their licence
What is the best way to visit the calanques if you're NOT based in Marseilles? Will be travelling from Carcassonne to Nice. Is it practical to stop off at Cassis and do a boat trip or hike out to the calanques?
Any advice on best calanque to visit, best hike, best boat tour?
Bonjour! Any suggestions on the "best" villages-perchés within convenient driving distance of Nice / Cannes?
By "best" I mean: very scenic, scenically located (panoramic views), good lunch options (perhaps restaurant with view; or good charcuterie / boulangerie), historically or culturally interesting.
Ones that appear to fit the bill are: (roughly east of Nice) Eze, La Turbie, Peillon and Luceram, (roughly west of Nice) Le Broc, Biot, St Paul de Vence, Tourettes-sur-Loup and Gourdon. Any comments re these, or ones I've missed?
Time-wise, (and driving either up or down the coast) how many perched villages would it be sensible to visit in one day?
Any practical advice re visiting perched villages?
I need to rent a car in Paris for 3 night travel to Nice. Stopping in Beaune any other must see's along the way? We like wine, walled cities, history, food, nature sites. Another words pretty much anything that is fun and interesting. 2 adult couples one never been to France.
Hi all, we plan on flying USA to Paris and from Brussels to USA. . Can you recommend an exciting train travel itinerary from Paris to Brussels. We are traveling in mid September and have 3-4 days to travel from Paris to Brussels. If it is possible ... maybe the french alps or Germany ? We thank you for any ideas. Carla
I know this will be hard to find, but 6 years ago I went to Paris and went to a very distinctive jazz bar near Ópera. We found the bar by wandering around the streets so we don't have an ideia of the exact street.
The bar has a very "strange" decoration, with plenty of objects on the ceiling! Like fans and stuff...
Does anyone have an ideia of what bar can it be? I'm going back to Paris in November and would like to go there again.
Thank you all.
Does anyone know if there are luggage lockers in theCagnes-sur-Mer train station? Thanks
Hi planning trip Sunday 5/7/15 from Nice to St Tropez. i thought i could get:
- train to St Raphael and then connect bus to St Tropez and then thought i could return
-bus from St Tropez to St Raphael, then train stopping at Cannes and Antibes (dinner in Antibes) then back to Nice
Can someone can help me find English timetable for bus from St Raphael to St Tropez.
Also can i get off and on the Train Express Regional #81219 heading back to Nice or is this express?

My boyfriend and I will be in Paris from December 24 to December 28. Some research into Christmas day dining says that only very expensive, very upscale restaurants are open that day? Does anyone have any insight into whether any smaller cafes or ethnic restaurants will open that day? Secondly, does anyone know if any of the upscale restaurants serve a la carte on Christmas day? We're trying to decide if it's worth it to go out to a (very) expensive Christmas day meal (I don't eat meat, so the fancy fois gras would be wasted on me...I do eat fish though, if anyone knows of any prix fixe menus with fish options!) or stop by the store and cook that day. Thank you in advance!
My flight arrives at 3AM. Really! What are my choices--trains? vans? buses? taxis?
Hi, I've just realised that we arrive in Cherbourg on a French National Holiday...anybody know if any of the big supermarkets will be open?
Can anybody provide me info on working hours of Église Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux or Church of Saint Peter the Old in Strasbpurg? Thank you in advance. Oleg

We will be in Paris this June and intend to do some day trips. We have already decided about Honfleur (I loved it!), Provins, and Auvers sur Oise. We are considering Conflans Sainte Honorine as it is very close to Paris and offers a completely different scenery to paint. Any ideas? Thank you very much
Me And my husband will be in Paris this June and we intend to do some day trips. One of them will be to Honfleur, we´ve been there some years ago and loved it. This time, we would like to sleep there one night not to rush back to Paris at the end of the day. Is it easy to find a bed and breakfast without reservation at this time? We would like to decide on the date of our day trips as we go, not compromising with it in advance. Thanks for your help.
If staying outside the walls can we access the cite inside the walls in the evenings?
My wife and I are taking two grandchildren (girls, ages 11 & 14) to Paris in July. Can anyone recommend any reasonably priced hotels with suite accommodations? We don't necessarily want to book two separate rooms.
