We are driving from Marseille France to Portofino, and I realize the area is large and has a lot to see. We would like to visit a few quant places on the way and find a good place for lunch. Any ideas?

So many places to choose from! If you plan to take a whole and really full day I would suggest the old town of Frejus -some very nice belle epoch arcitecture and Roman remains. Closer to Nice the tiny hill top village of Eze - winding narrow streets - all quite "arty", a fantastic cactus garden and a very good restaurant with great views over the coast. I'm sure you will have other recommendations too - as I said too many to choose from! Have a great trip.

wow nice ride, and indeed large area. A map will help you see the towns and then use destination above right to see what tips are written on them. And help you decide. try these Aubagne, Cassis, La Ciotât,Bandol, Toulon, Hyéres, Les Arcs, Fréjus,Grasse, Mougins, Cannes,Antibes, Nice, Menton,and Italy is a whole coast to dwell on. Any of the places is good for lunch ,all lovely towns. Need to do some planning and narrow down the list ,hope it gets you started
