It would help of we knew where you are while trying to book the tickets. We've only used the TGV once and we just walked into the first travel agent we passed and bought a couple tickets. Since you say it's urgent, you probably can't buy them enough ahead of time to save much money so you might as well use a travel agent. Barring that, use the web site given above and see if it works.
Good luck.

Voyages-SNCF is the official French railway website. I do not know if you will be able to book myour tickets from outside France using the French langauge version.
If you click for the English language version you will be automatically taken to Raileurope, the ticketing agency (it has tight links with SNCF). You will be able to book your tickets through that site, although you will pay a small admin fee.
You can of course just buy tickets from the railway station (or a travel agent, if you wish) when you arrive but you may not wish to do that.
I strongly suggest you check directly with your card provider that the iDTGV payment has not already gone through. That can sometimes happen, even when the site appears to go into limbo. The sooner you know if there has been a payment taken in error the sooner you will be able to get it sorted out.

The sncf site has become slightly easier to use than before but is , of course in French. What are the dates you are trying for ? Where are you trying from ? To help you we need certain things that you are not telling us. To navigate the site you can't get very far without having some idea of dates, times etc.

This site that i posted previously seems to be in English although it may not be the same site as some people are referring to.

Yes you can make it into English for checking times and prices but when you start the booking process it reverts back to French.
