Hello, Does anyone knows what time the buses leave Natal for Fortaleza on Friday 30th of March or how many buses there are daily ? Thanks!
Hi! I decided to fly to Fortaleza tomorrow and spend some days together with my girlfriend enyojing the beach, waves and the arm weather. We plan to get a rental car and make our way along the coast north from Fortaleza towards Jeri, but probably not going to Jeri itself, since I expect to find places less crowded. Can anybody recommend spending the nights in a tent at the beach? Is it save enough? Any recommendations for simple, cheap but save and clean places to stay close to the beach? Any recommendations for car rental in Fortaleza? I guess I just need a simple economy car, no 4wd. Has anyone been to Paracuru for Windusurfing? Are there other windsurfing rental places along the coast? Thank you so much, since this quite a quick planned trip :) Jürg
Hi! I am going to Fortaleza 16 january-2007, a norwegian friend of mine is down there together with his wife. I would like to bring my parachute and do some jumping. Do anybody know if there i a Dropzone in Fortaleza?
Just what the topic says . . . I'm in FOR from 17 to 24 November and I'd love to meet some folks. I'm in town to relax and shop around for some property. Yours, A6SNOIL
Hi, I'd like to know about record stores in Fortaleza. I'm mainly interested in metal music and collect vinyls and cds. Info on all kinds of "underground" record shops (that specialize on the more hard to find reords, south american metal vinyls and such), second hand record shops are greatly appreciated. Naturally I'm interested on the larger stores, that carry different kinds of music, too, but my main interest is the small independent record stores and second hand stores. Thank you in advance!
Hello, How could I go from Fortaleza to Natal ? Are there any direct busses ? How long does it take ? Thanks!
I have been studying Portuguese with Pimsleur, which I think is Rio de Janeiro based Brazilian Portuguese. In one of me earlier posts canaleiro mentioned that the Portuguese in Fortaleza is different. I am just wondering how different it is? Are all my months of Portuguese practice with Pimsleur for not? Any thoughts are appreciated, Craig
Hello again, Would anyone be able to tell me a good area to rent in? I would like something low end, but not a dump. Safe, clean, and affordable. A bachelor would be ideal for just getting started in the city. I don't know where the English schools are, so it's impossible to exactly identify where I should live to be near work, so I'm just wondering about a decent area that is more or less central, etc. Also I am wondering what I should expect to pay for an apartment. Just a range would be helpful. Am I looking at say between 500 and 800 dollars, or between 200 and 400 for example? Another question is the kind of lease generally required in Fortaleza. And also since I won't have a work visa, does that create any obstacles? Any help will be appreciated. Sincerely, Craig (my real name)
Hello everyone, I am considering relocating to Fortaleza and was wondering if it is possible to get work there teaching english. I realize it probably won't pay that much. Does anyone have any experience in this area? Thanks in advance for any advice.
I'm planning to drive up from Fortaleza along the coast to Jericoacoara, passing by Cumbuco, Paracuru & other nice places on the way... Do I really need at 4x4, or will a normal rental car do if I drive only during daylight, and not at local speeds ;-) Thanks Marc
Hi everyone Has anyone heard of the new development "dream beach apartments" that are being built on Combuco beach. As we are looking into perhaps purchasing one of these, and will be coming out in the next two months or so to have a look. General questions: Is the area nice, things to do, is the development definately genuine and is the planned new golf course being built near to Combuco. Many thanks and any advice/help would be much appreciated. Many thanks Mike and Vanessa
Hi everyone This is Mike and Vanessa from Portsmouth England here. We are looking to relocate to Combuco in Ceara and would welcome any advice at all regards the local area - things to do etc. Is it safe, restaurants and shops, is there much development in the area, is the planned golf course going ahead and as we may be opening a small bar in Combuco are their many foreign holidaymakers there. We both speak reasonable Portuguese due to a couple of years spent working in Lisbon a few years back. Therefore we are very much looking forward to joining in Brazilian life totally. Any remarks/advice would be most welcome. Thank you all. Mike and Vanessa

I am looking for a location not to far from the beach and Dragao do Mar. I am planning to relocate from Sweden to Fortaleza. I do have some business ideas in the area of IT, media, webb. If someone is interested, please let me know. Regards, Henrik

I want to go to Fortaleza, in Ceará, Brazil, and I would like to know how safe or unsafe it is. I mean, is it like Salvador de Bahia, where everybody warns you not to go out walking at night, but always take a taxi? Or is it like Maceió, where you can walk along the seaside at night without any problems? Is it easy to move around by yourself?
Two part question. First are there any direct flights from MIami to Fortaleza? I can't find any and i think it is ridiculous not to have one. It seems like such a waste of time going through Sao Paulo Second, I am looking to buy beach front land or houses outside of fortaleza, preferably south. If anyone has any good contacts, then I am all ears. Thanks! Patrick
Hi, We have just bought a house in the Fortaleza area and need to get started kitting it out. If any one could give us some idea where to find D.I.Y stores aswell as furniture shops it would be a great help. Huge Thanks!!! Katie & Mark

I was in Fortaleza for the Holidays and I got to try the Chopp de Vinho at the Chopp de Bixiga. I have NEVER tried a drink like this. Excellent DRINK. I was amazed. The problem now is that i came back and I can no longer get Chopp de Vinho. Does any one know how to get it or make it?
Hoping that someone can give me some advice on a move my partner and I are planning. We are currently living in Spain, I am English and she is Brazilian, we plan to move to the Fortaleza area, purchase a property of around 120,000R and set up a small business venture, maybe a beach type bar or small restaurant. My concern is the general living aspect of Forteleza what are the good and bad areas to live, how realistic is the plan to open a small business and is there any work in Fortaleza (I am a mechanical engineer, and can also work as plumbing and general repair work as well. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Best Regards
