Hello and Happy Easter to everyone, Please I am planning a vacation to Florida at the end of the month, and intend visiting and spending a couple of days in Orlando, Forte Lauderdale, and possibly Miami (in no specific order); from there I shall be proceeding to Baltimore in Maryland. I intend to rent a car and drive. Please does anyone have any experience on the road trip; i.e. the distance and time to travel on road from Orland to Baltimore? thanks All.
Disregarding the preceding irrelevant screed, give us a bit of an idea of how you want to travel. Scenic routes or just get there as fast as possible on the dull as ditchwater Interstate?

If you just wish to get there by any means, the cheaper way is by plane. Plane would be about120 on Air Tran or Spirit. To rent a car, stay in motel, and pay for gas would be about285 -300. It is about 1100 miles and will take 2 solid driving days of 9 hours each day by car. Less than 3 hours by plane.

very easy road trip on the I95 to I4 corridor, done zillion times, used to live in NJ/FL. Last lived west of Fort Lauderdale, correct spelling. check www.mapquest.com for road route planning. rental cars you can have many companies, try expedia, travelocity sites, and my favorite was Hertz. hope it helps

I see the irrelevant screed has been removed. Good work Mother Ship. If you wanted to make an expedition of it you could construct a rather interesting journey of 3 or 4 days, taking in Charleston South Carolina, Savannah Georgia and the Outer banks of North Carolina (reached by car ferry.) Also, from Orlando there is a very pretty drive through I think a state forest preserve, pretty much all the way up to where you turn off for St Augustine (itself worth a look.) Of course, if you're in a hurry, never mind.
