We are leaving on a 3-week cruise from Ft. Lauderdale on January 2, 2012, and will travelthere a few days earlier, and spend New Year's Eve. Any suggestions for a decent, but not outrageously expensive hotel, that would offer dining/dancing/entertainment on New Year's Eve. Or separate the two, a decent hotel, and a decent place to spend New Year's Eve, not too far apart. We will be renting a car for the few days, but have no wish to drive a great distance, especially having had a few drinks.
Hi, I can recommend a lovely LITTLE unique place to stay, it's called Alhambra Hotel. We went on a cruisse from Fort Lauderdale this year and stayed here we were very impressed. You have a kitchen also so if you want to cook you can. Free internet and breakfast, lovely pool and flock of wild parrots in the palm trees!!! Owners are very nice and helpful. I hope this helps. Enjoy.

It does get great reviews though. I have only stayed at The Hyatt Bonaventure out by the everglades and found it to be fantastic. It has one of the best steak houses in south Florida and a nice large lounge with music and dancing
