I'm thinking of trying the university for foreigners in sept. 2014 to study Italian. Anyone been to this school? What was your experience? I went to the same university in Perugia a few years ago and had a beautiful time. Just wondering about Siena..
I will be looking to pick up two separate sets/collections of olive wood kitchen utensils as gifts and do not wish to pay a fortune.
Do any of the Flea Markets offer them for sale and which Flea Markets would give me the best opportunities for finding them? Also, would this be the best and least expensive way to acquire them? I will also be in Rome and Milan for a number of days if one knows of greater savings that would be available in those areas. We are talking about collecting 6-10 utensils per set; mix/match and of a fairly good quality. What type of prices would we be talking about?
Any help or advice would be appreciated; in advance, Thank you
I really want to buy my mom some jewelry made in either Florence or Siena as we have had some lovely trips there and never actually bought any jewelry. I'm hoping to get her something for Christmas but am running into some problems finding a jewelry store that offers online shopping. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!
I will be arriving in Florence on Christmas day at the Santa Maria Novella train station at 1030 in the morning. Do you know if the Tobbachi store in the station will be open to purchase bus tickets? If not, anywhere else close to the station on Christmas day? I am elderly enough not to wish walking about a mile to my hotel dragging my wife and baggage. Any help or advice would be appreciated.......Thank you in advance, Rich Luttrell
My wife and I are planning to visit Florence in mid-May 2014. We have been watching airline fares from Atlanta, GA to Florence which have risen slightly in the last month. It is said the best time to book flight seats is 6 weeks in advance. I'm unsure about this stat for international flights. Thoughts?
Also, we plan to rent a villa, B&B, condo or apartment in the Florence area for our 2 week stay in Italy. This will be our "home base" for countryside excursions. There will be a 2-3 day trip via train to Rome. Accommodation recommendations??
Hello to everybody,
I am planning our next holiday for September 2014, in Tuscany region for 5 days.
We will rent a car from Florence.
I prepared my visit points, but I see that the list is very long and I could not decide how to divide my stays. We don’t prefer to stay in the same place and visit the villages in the surrounding and come back. I do not know whether if seven days will be enough to visit all these points, how much time to spend on each point?
My list is as:
GREVE IN CHIANTI /PANZANO IN CHIANTI /CASTELIANA IN CHIANTI / RADDA IN CHIANTI / GAIOLE IN CHIANTI / SIENA / MONTERONI D'ARBIA / ASCIANO /VAL D'ASSO /TREQUANDA /SAN GIOVANNI D'ASSO /BUONCONVENTO /CHIUSURE /MONTALCINO /CASTEL NOUVO DEL ABATE /CASTIGLIONE D'ORCIA /ROCCA D'ORCIA /BAGNO VIGNONI /SAN QUIRICO D'ORCIA /PIENZA /MONTICHIELLO /LA FOCE /MONTE AMIATA /ABBADIA SAN SALVATORE /RADICOFANI / CETONA / CHIUSI /CHIANCIANO TERME /MONTEPULCIANO /CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO /CORTONA /AREZZO / COLLE DI VAL D'ELSA /SAN GIMGIANO /VOLTERRA.
