    • half-night stay

      Penzance 1 hours ago

      Hi

I just got the summer job with my friend at one of the Hotels in Isle of Scilly. We are arriving to Penzance this weekend. We are coming by bus from London and we will arrive at around 2am at Penzance Bus Station. Our boat leaves at 9am. We don't have much money and renting a room for half a night seems too expensive (we are already spending over 200 ponds on the tickets. We were wondering if there is some sort of waiting room opened? Maybe at the railway station?

We tried calling hotels with 24h reception asking if we could wait in their lounge, for a small charge if necessary but no luck here.

It is our first visit to Cornwall and we would appreciate any help.

I am moving to market harborough next month and will be commuting to london everyday in the rush hours.
Is the train service reliable? frequency of delays in the rush hour? and do you usually manage to find a seat on the train? According to my research there is no interchange so all trains are direct to london kingscross. Many thanks in advance for your comments/helps.

      iPhone use in England

      England Jul 19, 2014 at 9:37 PM

I now have an iPhone. I have no problem communicating with family by email, but it may be that I will have to actually make a phone call. Can I do this with an iPhone as I don't think there is a sim card in it. (I traded in the phone with the sim card as it was so irritating - it would turn itself on in my pocket.) I don't know if it is unlocked or locked. Does an iPhone get locked? Do I have to buy a phone when I get there to use?

Actually, any information anyone can give me about the town would be great and realley appreaciated. We are mainley useing it as a base to take of for a lot of day trips. My grandmother grew up nearby and wanted to come look at all the places of her youth. Thanks :) Kirsten

Is holiday let common in Folkestone? Are these many tourists visiting Folkestone these days? Any comment will be appreciated. Thanks!

      Best hotel for Eurotunnel

by dangui Online Now Mar 4, 2005 at 12:25 PM

Need your thoughts - can you suggest a good hotel near the Eurotunnel Station? I think we need to use the one in Ashford? We would like to park the car and take a day trip to Paris...so we need a hotel for 2 nights that's close to the station...the train leaves very early in the morning. Can you suggest a hotel with character, 90 Pounds or less for a double? Thanks for your help.
