Cashless tolls on Fort Lauderdale & Miami Area

by Lukadosa Online Now Oct 24, 2013 at 8:59 AM

Is it really necessary to get "pass 24" or "sun pass" when renting a car in Fort Lauderdale and Miami area? I've been told there are some toll roads that do not take cash, is this true? If it is, which roads are cashless toll roads on these two Florida Areas?

well I lived there for 18 years and never purchase one. rode all over the best way to ride in a car. d├ępends on where you are going, trace your routes on
    www.mapquest.com
and you should avoid all tolls roads, I did.
    cheers

I had the same question when I went to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami last year and we found that we didn't need the Sun Pass but that there are roads that you can't access and there are other roads that you can pay the cash toll on. During rush hour I suppose it's a beneficial thing to have but you can easily avoid the roads if you don't get the Sun Pass. This is what I wrote up when I got back
