Doubtless for some a very touristy/ cheesy thing to want to do, but... Does anyone know of any opera or other musical events occuring between 18 - 29 June in Florence, Pisa or Lucca or nearby? Or indeed any other 'must see' events at this time? I have already noted the Medieval Pisa festival on the Arno on the last Sunday but is there anything else i could mark in my diary (it would be helpful to know when NOT to book my Uffizi ticket!) thanks.

from Florence you might think to go also to Verona http://www.arena.it/en-US/HOMEen.html you can get FrecciaArgento train, it takes about 1h40m

If you're up in the North-West of Tuscany (Pisa/Livorno/Lucca) then the nearest and best thing is the Puccini Festival at Torre del Lago. http://www.puccinifestival.it/ Stunning event, all summer long, amazing setting.

Unfortunately the poster will not be in the area during the Puccini festival. She will be there from 18th-29th June; the festival is in July/Auguat. Perhaps on her next visit? :-)
