I personally don't think that 3 months in Florence is too much. First of all, like you said, you will be spending most of it working. Therefore, your free time will be limited. I spent one month in Florence a few years ago, with lots of free time, and I had such a great time. I wish I was in your shoes. As long as you love the Renaissance era, the culture, history, architecture, museums and nightlife, you'll have plenty to do in Florence. Have fun!! Patricia

my personal opinion would be - not at all! 3 months actually pass quite quickly, especially if you're working. Tuscany is a very beautiful region and there are many many lovely places you could visit within a day - the beach doesn't take that long to get to if you're here in summer, and in the mountains nearby there are some very charming towns. Even if you don't venture much outside the city, Florence is packed with history and culture. If you avoid the touristy areas it's still possible to eat very nice food without spending too much, and the wine from Tuscany (as from many other regions) is great! have you been to Italy before? do you speak any italian?

I have never been to Italy and I don't speak any Italian. I plan to learn once I am there.
