Hi,

I was after some advice on what to do once we check out of the snow hotel (in January) if our flight does not depart till 21.20. We are travelling with 3 small kids and realise it is going to be very cold at night so had hoped someone might have an idea of where we could go. Is there any hotels that we could book as a day room?

Hi everybody, we are coming to Rovaniemi for Christmas. Have booked accom. But the flights from Helsinki are horribly expensive and the night train booked out. I am considering hiring a car. I know its approx 600km...as we come from Australia this distance is usual for us. But given the snow etc is the route easily drivable in mid-Dec?

The annual Tall Ships Race in Helsinki is coming closer. It will be 17-20-7-2013 this year. It's an enormous event when over 100 huge, old ships are competing! I have never seen this before and my question to you is: Where is the best place to be for watching this awesome event? I really look forward to it and I encourage all of you to be there! There is a lot more to do and see also. Be there!

We plan to see RUSH at Hartwall Arena tomorrow. It seems the concert will last 3 hours (tickets write it starts at 20.00) so I wonder how we will return back home (siilitie metro station) if we get out of the concert hall after 23.20.
Will we have have time to return to the center and catch the metro?
If not which buses should we take?

Hi,
i would like to travel around Baltic countries, and i would like to know some detail about transporting and so.

we plan to visit Espoo on sunday. Does it really worth it? what can we see there? reading about it I realize it is a big city with ugly buildings that probably is a bit boring for the average tourist and hard to navigate without a car.
The only thing that seems interesting is Nuuksio National park that has some nice trails. I still dont know how we can reach it from Helsinki (starting from Siilitien metroasema).
Do we have to take a bus to Espoo first? which stop? and then another bus to the park? I see 28 goes to southern part of the park but I dont know where it departs in Espoo.

how can I reach Siilitien metroasema from the airport without a taxi?
we will have 5 day regional two zone-ticket.
we arrive at the aiport at 13.00 on a weekday

What is the best company to use for overnight to Stockholm

we'll have 48h in Tampere arriving there by train at 11.00am (wednesday) and leaving at 9.00am (friday).
We'll be staying 2km west of the train station.

1.Does it make any sense to have a card for the buses (10e for 48h) or we can just walk around these 2 days?
2.what about the city card? it costs 31e for 48h but what attraction does it include?

for the moment the only attractions I have on my list is Lenin Museo and some central churches. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

is the 9.30am bus from Turku a good option? according to their site we'll be at the airport at 11.40 but has anyone done this route? is it really 2 hours and 10 minutes as they say or the traffic may cause big delay?

As someone who works in wholesale travel, I have booked super cheap flights to Europe with QF/AY on a travel agent special.
I am concerned about the short transit time in HEL though. Anyone offer any tips on whether they have achieved the transit? I have heard that HEL is a good quick airport.

I'm in Rovaniemi for one day tomorrow and wanted to visit Arktikum in the morning and then travel to Ranua Zoo at about 1300. Based on the Ranua website, this should have been possible, however, as tomorrow is Ascension day, the usual 1320 bus isn't running so I would have to catch the 845 bus and come back at 1017 (which only gives me half an hour at the zoo) or at 1720 (in which case Arktikum will be closed). I've had a look at car rentals but these are expensive. Is there any other way to get there by public transport? Or is someone heading that way around 1300 so that I can catch a ride there? Any suggestions/advice appreciated here or to marzlmr@gmail.com.

do they depart from a specific place in Tampere?
Do they use a regular bus station in the city or some weird spot off the centre as many low cost companies that is hard to be reached by a tourist?

I've heard that there is a Restaurant Day in Helsinki every year. It is a popular event that started in Helsinki a couple of years ago and have spread over the whole world. It's a day when anybody can have a restaurang of their own in a whole day and sell food in different ways. If I'm right there are more than one restaurang day/year. My question to you is: When is the next Restaurant Day? I would like to be a part of it.
