Which is the best route to travel from Hyderabad to Nadi enroute Hongkong
Hi,
We are staying on Denarau Island in October, the accomodation is booked, but instead of eating/drinking at the resort or Port Denarau every night, we'd be interested in going into Nadi Town or to Waialoa Beach in the evenings.
Are the taxis safe to use at night, and is it safe to walk down the main street of Nadi to restaurtants/bars etc after dark?
Going to Fiji on our 10 year wedding anniversary in August. Which is the best island to visit? I have heard Nadi. Any other recommendations? We love to snorkel and swim and anything to deals with water!!!
Can someone please tell who to book online with for the Malo Cat to Plantation Island Resort. We have not booked through an agent so we can not go through them also every website I go to doesn't list Plantation Island Resort as a destination. Is it listed under a different name or destination??? I am not sure what to do. I went through South Travel website and they sent me back an email asking me for my booking at Muscat Cove when I told them I was not booked at Muscat Cove I have not gotten back any information regarding transfers to Plantation Island Resort. Thank you in advance.

Hi all,
I am thinking of travelling to Fiji and would like to take part in some volunteer tourism projects that help local communities. Has anybody had any experience of such projects?
I've got a question regarding where and how to off-load a booking I've already made. I've booked a 7 night hotel stay at WorldMark Denarau Island during the Easter holidays but I can't go anymore. I'm trying hard to find some good travel classified sites to off-load the booking on the cheap but not sure where to go. Can you guys please advise what websites are available that I can post and have interested travelers look at? Thanks a lot.
Mike
Hello everyone, I need a bit of help planning my next trip. You guys have done a great job in the past hooking me up with some great details that led to awesome trips. First off a bit of background about the travelers. It will be myself and my wife traveling, I'm 27, she's 25 and we both love to do anything outdoors, including hiking, fishing, and especially SCUBA diving. Our last trip was to Belize and we loved it, not touristy at all, great diving and awesome culture. We are sort of looking for the same this go around, great diving, not touristy and plenty to do. We are looking to go to Fiji for the next trip and are looking to go in May-June for somewhere between 15-20 days. I have done a lot of research but there is just so much info that it's hard to narrow it down. I was thinking about flying into Nadi, then head to Beqa lagoon to do the shark dive and then head to Taveuni for more diving and whatever else you recommend, then on to Kadavu and maybe finish up in the Mamanuca group for some relaxation. This was just a rough idea and any info is helpful as far as what to do, where to dive, who to dive with, where to hike, where to eat, where to stay, and how long to stay. As far as accommodations go, where not in need of a 5 star resort but we do like to come back to a nice room at the end of the day. Thanks again for all the help!
Hi, we are taking the kids on holiday to figi this year and was after some comments. I've noticed most of the hotels are about 1hr plus from the airport? Are there any closer to the airport ? Was also wanting a good kids club having troubles as our youngest will be 3 yo most of the kids clubs are from 5years on? Also how far is town in comparison to airport and hotels? Thanks heaps xx
We are travelling back from Auckland to the UK between 30th Oct and 5th Nov and would love to call in to a lovely beach from where we could do some snorkelling to look at some lovely fish before returning to London. We have never been to Fiji and thought it all sounded great but a little concerned about the time of year and possible wet and windy weather spoiling the trip and the sea. Also completely confused with the number of islands and the variety of resorts on offer as to which ones we should be seriously looking at. The trip is not going to be cheap and it will be at the end of the holiday so we are looking for top end prices. Somewhere in the middle to lower end would be fine but not tooooo basic. many thanks for your thoughts
Hi everybody! I am an Australian high school student and I really want to become a doctor. I have a dream to move to Fiji permanently and work as a doctor there, especially servicing the remote parts of Fiji. My question is about the medical school at Fiji National University and whether or not I would be foolish to turn down an Australian uni to study in Fiji? I would love to study medicine in Fiji, just as long as the training would make me a good enough doctor? I'm not worried about living there as I have lived there previously whilst volunteering. Would love to hear your thoughts! Cheers :)
Hi everyone We have flights booked for Fiji for 23 June for about 2 weeks. We would like to stay somewhere nice like Jean Michel Cousteau, Warwick, Outrigger, Shangri La. We were also hoping for an all inclusive package. Are there any tips for how to get the best price for these types of resorts? We would love to also hear any recommendations for less commercial resorts in Fiji that do not require internal flight transfers etc. We have two kids who will be 4 yo and 18 months. Thanks very much The Koala Traveller

Hi there, I will be relocating to Suva by the end of this year or early next year. I am a doctor & have been offered a job at a hosp there. I have a few queries regarding the place, if possible can someone on the forum plz. share their recent exp. in Suva. 1.How safe is the place, from a family point of view, since my wife & my parents will be coming with me. ( I have lived in Georgetown,Guyana before, where there was a lot of drug related crime, but the common man was not much affected if u keep ur wits about you & avoid places not recommended by locals) 2.What is the avg. cost of living in Suva for a family of 4? We are not party goers, just the occasional restaurant on the weekend. 3.How much would a decently furnished 3 bedroom apartment cost? Any other guidance that the members can provide would be very welcome. Warm Regards,
Hi there, my wife and I are traveling to Australia next June and July for a hectic rugby tour following the British and Irish Lions. The tour finishes on the 8th of July but we would like to then go on to one of the Islands...Fiji or similar, for a 8-10 day relaxing break. Anybody got any ideas of the best places to go? We will have to travel back to Sydney for our return flight to the UK. Thanks, Andrew....
Hi! VTs I will be be in Fiji in September. I am looking for one day cruise trip. Please advise me which its best cruise tour package. Thank you in advance.
Hello Everyone, My wife and 3 kids (and I) are contemplating a trip to Fiji in July 2013. My question are: 1) Is 3 weeks too long? 2) Don't want to fly around the islands (flights are expensive), so where would you recommend splitting up the time -- somebody recommended a week in Yasawa Islands a week on the main island and another week somewhere else (Grand Harbour or something like that)? 3) Do you have any names of good accommodations you recommend staying at--we are NOT budget travellers -- looking for clean, safe and hygienic...not backpacker type places, but value for money and good location. Thank you for all your help. Nathan
Hi! Just wondering if anyone has done the Tivua Island Day Cruise and if it is safe for little kids? Ours will be just 6 and almost 4 when we go. Ta! :)
Hi, traveling to Fiji mid August. Are there any supermarkets outside the Naviti Resort? If so, are they walking distance away or will a taxi be required? I know there are boutiques etc inside the resort, wanted to patronize the locals a little. Need to grab snacks etc or the kids. Thanks.
were going to Fiji at the end of august and would like to do some fishing, could someone recommend someone reliable to take us out fishing. Were staying at the sanaisali island resort.
Hi! Where is the best place in Fiji to stay with young kids (3 & 6 years old)?? We can't afford to spend heaps but would love to stay 7-9 nights. Would love if there was some water sports, kids club and volleyball court. :) Thanks in advance. :)
Do you know if there is any place in Nadi, Fiji where we could storage our 2 extra luggages for one month when traveling around Fiji. I know there is luggage storage in Nadi Airport, however it is a bit expensive if the storage time is one month.
My family are booked to fly to Fiji this Friday 6 April (we are a group of 14). It has been hard to get good information about the area we are staying in (The Outrigger near Sigatoka). We are quite adept at travelling in unusual circumstances but I wonder if we would be an added burden to the country if we still travel. I believe the flights will be going, the hotel is open for business and the roads are now open. Do people think we should travel or not risk it. Any advice welcome.
Thinking of staying at Treasure Island in May this year. Can anyone tell me if there are free transfers from the mainland to Treasure Island or do you have to pay for all the transfer services? Do day trips leave from the island or from the mainland? Oh, and is the volleyball court any good? :)
my friend and i are stopping over in nadi on our way to hawaii for 4 hours, im guessing we will have to spend atleast one hour of that at the airport before our flight out but in the time will we have enough time to leave the airport and go to the beach or see anything?
I would like to take 14 of my staff for 4 nights in Fiji- is Denarau the best place to go. We want a place to swim, snorkel- ages between 21 and mid 40's
My little sister is going to be travelling solo to the town of Nadi where she will be volunteering at the Treasure House for a month. I am concerned for her safety as I have heard that there are plenty of dangers to look out for in this town. If anyone knows someone or has personally experienced working/ living/ volunteering in fiji, could you please advise me of safe towns for self contained accommodation, shuttle buses and just your overall experience of volunteering in fiji. Any feed back would be extremely helpful. Many Thanks C x
