Hello VTers, Are the tanneries open every day? And are all the souks open? I had read somewhere that in Seffarine Sq. some workshops are closed Fri and Sun. I hope not - Sunday is a free day from the tour we are on and I expect to spend time in the that area. Thanks for any info. Losham
Sunday will probaly be okay. Friday is a day for prayer and some people take a few hours of to pray. There are signposted walkingroutes througout the medina, if you follow them you can see nice things without having the hassle of fake overpriced guides. You also asked about the busses in another forumtopic. Just take a petit taxi from the ville nouvelle to the medina. It is very cheap, around 15 DH. Make sure that they switch on the meter and ask before they start driving how much it will cost. We went with a lot of petit taxi's and every one was very nice and honest. We only had a touristtrap experience once in two weeks.

Lude thanks for your help. I'll be in the Marrakesh medina on a Friday and the Fes medina on a Sunday but I'm sure I'll be OK with seeing/shopping in some souks. Losham
