This winter, as for the last eight,we will be back in Ferragudo and I would like to know if the old brige to Portimao has been reopen. Thank you
The bridge closed to cars and heavy vehicles in November 2007 for repairs to it's pillars. It’s due to re-open in mid 2009. You can still cross the bridge on foot or bike or take the train from Parchal to Portimão’s station (less than 3 mins). You can then catch the Violet-colour hopper-bus which will take you to the centre of Portimão (Alameda and Largo do Dique) in next to no time! There is talk of a potential river crossing via ferryboat... Excellent idea to spend Winter in Ferragudo ! [Temperatures in the next few days will hit 18C & sunny! ]
