Perhaps you mean Wadi el Hitan?? Also called Valley of the Whales?
It is a relatively new site, discovered 5 years ago when paleontologists uncovered about 400 skeletons of different kinds extinct whales and dolfins. Several skeletons are exposed for the the first time 2 weeks ago during a day trip to the Fayoum and it is very impressive! I will make a travelogue about the trip soon.

I see a sentence from my former message is missing. It should be:
The site is opened 4 years ago and I visited it 2 weeks ago
