I will be in Fairbanks in the first week of April and would like to go to Chena Hot Springs. How's the road condition? Is it feasible to drive a rental car (ecnomy style) there? Thanks in advance.
Fairbanks gets some cruel, cold winters. But usually, the silver lining is that they also get sun and spring like weather before the rest of us Alaskans living south along the coast. April is usually a beautiful time in Fairbanks.
But you never know. The road to Chena is well maintained and paved. You should be fine.
