we are coming by car from Castelo de Vide and will visit sites of Evora for 2 days in July. Should we stay in Evora itself or base ourselves somewhere nearby (Moura? Estremoz?) we dont want a fancy poussada ,just a nice clean little residencial. It seems that most of the places within the city are very expensive, and the ones that arent seem to have bad reviews on here. Also is parking going to be a problem inside the city? thanks all.
Hi Ruthi, When we visited Evora we stayed in the Ibis hotel, and were satisfied: eurobookings.com/evora-hotel... It's right outside the old city wall, modern, inexpensive, ample parking, 3 min walk to the beautiful old city within the walls. Ilan

Hi, parking within the walls of Evora is very difficult. But you can leave you car just outside the walls and walk a little. There's plenty of parking space. As for a place to stay nearby, here's some suggestions: Estremoz: "Monte da Fazenda" : lifecooler.com/portugal/aloj... (I haven't stayed there though) If you like to stay in Vila Viçosa (and have a chance to visit the beautiful palace and carriage museum) consider this hotel: Hotel Solar Dos Mascarenhas. It's really nice, I've stayed on this one.
