Hi VT friends! I need your assistance! I will be in Europe for approximately three weeks in July. I'm getting into Madrid July 5th and departing Amsterdam July 24th. In between, I will definitely be staying in Madrid, Barcelona, Salies de Bearn (France), Belgium, and Amsterdam. I have to be in Salies for a friend's wedding by July 13th. So, I was thinking of going to Lourdes from Barcelona. However, all forum postings and online research are indicating this to be a challenge. For sure, I need to be in Salies by the 13th regardless of whether I get to visit Lourdes. Therefore, my questions are: 1.) What train, bus, or flight can I take to get me to Salies or it's nearest major city (i.e., Orthez, Pau, Biarritz, etc.)? 2.) If I can't visit Lourdes before the wedding, I would like to after the wedding. (My mom will be happy if I do that. Lourdes is her namesake.) How can I get to Lourdes from Salies? 3.) What's the most economical and efficient option to get from Lourdes or any major city near Salies up to Brussels? Rail or flight? 4.) What's the most economical and efficient way to get from Brussels to Amsterdam? 5.) I have on temporary hold a Eurail pass for three countries (Spain, France, Benelux) for travel for 5 days for the approx amount of600 (including seat reservations). This seems a little too steep for me. With flights on Ryanair, Easyjet, Vueling, and others not too expensive, should I just forego the Eurail or am I missing something? Any answers, advice, or tips to any of my questions and/or concerns would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!!! Pickles :)
