How to use my brazilian Ipad 2 3G in Europe

by larasalomon Online Now Mar 24, 2012 at 6:31 PM

I live in Brazil and I'm traveling to the following countries: Austria, Germany, Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland. I would like to know how to use my Ipad2 3G in these countries, which the operators who work with 3g prepayed, plans for 20 days and the cheapest one? Thanks in advance. Lara

9 Countries in 20 days? I'm afraid you won't have so much time, better use only free wi-fi at hotels and other places.

I think you need a techie rather than travel forum for this sort of question. See for example ipadforums.net/ipad-general-... and ipadforums.net/ipad-carriers... You want somebody to know the situation for 9 different countries, each of which has multiple operators! I would be surprised if you could find ANY 20-day plan (= contract) - or indeed any contract as a non-resident in some countries - and it would be better to use prepaid cards, i.e. pay as you go. I guess you will have to buy one in the first country you want to use it in, and replace it as necessary. As it happens, if Austria is listed first because this is where you're arriving, then according to the first link given above, it's not a bad place to start with the first one.
